As many Kansas Citians know, the St. Patrick’s Day Parade is just the beginning of the celebration. The annual parade starts at 11am at Linwood & Broadway and ends at 43rd & Broadway where the day long St. Patrick’s Day celebration begins – in Westport. Join us before, during and after the parade on Saturday, March 17 to enjoy 10+ outdoor beer gardens complete with plenty of shamrocks, green beer and festive food, as well as plenty of celebrations indoors at your favorite bar or restaurant. So dust off your green and enjoy the shenanigans listed below!
St. Patrick’s Day Shenanigans
Californos – Californos opened on March 17, 1988 , so they’re celebrating our 30th Anniversary this St. Patrick’s Day with live music and Irish buffet, starting at 11am, ending at 6pm. Bands Include: Nuthatch-47, 3 Son Green, Joel Castillo (of 77 Jefferson), Joseph Warren & the Wanderlust Revival, as well as Irish music by Kid on the Mountain.
Ernie Biggs Dueling Piano Bar – Ernie Biggs & Qdoba have come together to bring you live entertainment, full bar AND Mexican fare in their outdoor beer garden in the parking lot behind Qdoba. With an outdoor stage and an indoor stage, there will be plenty of live music, starting at 1pm, to keep the party going all day and night.
Gambal’s Social Club – Dempsey’s Burger Pub and Firefly Lounge are teaming up with Gambal’s Social Club for a St. Patrick’s Day block party! The music starts at noon on the outdoor stage and continues until midnight. But that’s not where it stops! The music will continue until 3am inside of Firefly!
Harpo’s – Harpo’s, better known as O’Harpo’s on March 17, will open at 10am, serving an Irish Breakfast Casserole as well as lucky local St. Patrick’s Day favorites.
Harry’s Bar & Tables – Harry’s will open early at 10:30am and will serve food all day until 2am while you indulge in St. Patrick’s Day fun.
HopCat – There aren’t many better views of the Kansas City St. Patrick’s Day Parade than the view from HopCat’s upstairs patio! They will also be serving house specialty cocktails and Irish inspired taps from local breweries. So, get your tickets for the best seat in the house by clicking here!
Joe’s Pizza Buy the Slice – Joe’s will open early at 10:30am on St. Patrick’s Day to serve up your favorite slices while you celebrate!
Julep – Julep will open early at 10am and will feature 25% off all Irish whiskey, $5 green beer, $7 Guinness, $6 Jameson, $10 Irish Coffee, $10 Irish Cream & Coffee, $8 Car Bombs!
Kelly’s Westport Inn – Can you believe at one time, Kelly’s was closed during St. Patrick’s Day for fear of overcrowding? Luckily, those days are behind us and Kelly’s will open at 10am with an outdoor beer garden.
Photo Playhouse – Rather than join the outdoor parties, embrace your creativity in this pop-up photo spot at 4141 Mill Street on St. Patrick’s Day from 12pm – 3am! DJ encode will also be playing from 9pm -3am.
Pickleman’s Gourmet Cafe – Stop by Pickleman’s to grab some coupons, koozies, green sunglasses and other swag!
Port Fonda – Get your day started with Port Fonda’s brunch featuring Irish spins on their Mexican classics! While you’re around, enjoy the festivities outside where plenty of chairs and tables and of course a bar will be set up.
Throwback – Get an early start on the day with Kegs & Eggs, featuring live DJs, at Throwback from 8am – 10am! So get there early! But, the party won’t stop there. The music will keep going through the day with multiple DJs and performers.
Westport Ale House – Head to Westport Ale House, as they will be serving food and drink out of the newly renovated elevator space, offering Corned Beef hash, Reuben sandwiches, Pizza by the slice, and other fare from 8am – 1:30am!
Westport Coffeehouse Theater – Thinking about skipping the beer gardens this year? Maybe this is the year to check out one (or all) of the three KC Improv Company shows happening in the Westport Coffeehouse Theater! The night will begin with an all ages show, Family Game Night, at 6:30pm. Next up will be Underground Throwdown at 8:00pm in which three teams compete for laughs and the audience picks the winner.
