From spring through fall and during select special events, portions of Westport may temporarily transition into pedestrian-focused public spaces designed to support outdoor dining, walkability, entertainment, festivals, nightlife activity, and visitor experience.

During these periods, temporary traffic adjustments and limited vehicle access may occur within portions of the district to support increased pedestrian activity and event operations.

Typical event-area operations may include portions of:

Visitors should follow posted signage and public safety guidance while navigating the district during special event operations.

Westport is accessible from the Kansas City Streetcar extension corridor via walking connections, rideshare services, bikes, scooters, and connecting transit options.

Visitors traveling from Downtown Kansas City, nearby hotels, and future soccer-related activities may find public transit and rideshare services especially convenient during peak event periods.

RideKC public transit routes and regional mobility services also operate throughout the Midtown Kansas City area.

Westport includes a combination of privately operated parking garages, surface parking lots, and limited on-street parking throughout the district.

The Manor Square Garage, accessible from Pennsylvania Avenue and Mill Street, is a privately operated paid parking garage and offers the district’s largest covered parking capacity. Parking rates and availability may vary depending on the day, time, and special events.

During periods of temporary street closures or pedestrian-only operations, bicycles, scooters, and similar mobility devices may be restricted within designated pedestrian areas and should be walked or routed around closed sections of the district.
