Interested in learning how to test new product designs with users? Or finding out why customers aren’t using all the features in your product?
In this 2-day hands-on training course, participants will learn the end-to-end processes and tools necessary to conduct qualitative usability testing that can be conducted in person (lab) or remotely (online). Usability testing is essential in uncovering the root cause of problems users are having and is done by watching them use a product and identifying what’s going wrong.
With guidance from expert trainers, participants will create and execute a moderated research study from start to finish, including facilitating sessions with real user participants and delivering findings and insights to improve product design.
Students will learn how to:
- Focus testing on key pain points to understand why users are struggling
- Probe on task failure to uncover breakdowns in workflows, language and content
- Explore concepts to ensure high-level designs align with the users’ mental model
- Provide strategic and tactical insights so product owners can take action quickly to fix issues
Students will also learn about unmoderated testing, which can be used to get insights that can be integrated quickly into design sprints.
