Oktoberfest returns to Westport for the second year!

Following up the successful inaugural season of its Oktoberfest event, we announced today that the dates have been set for next year’s event. The expanded program will kick off Thursday night September 27, 2018, and run through Sunday, September 30, 2018. Nearly 20,000 guests attended the first event held last September.
This event will be a “must attend” for not only Kansas Citians, but fun-lovers across the Midwest. So, mark your calendars, secure your lederhosen and plan on attending Kansas City’s largest German heritage celebration in the of heart Westport! With an incredible array of food, beer and unique attractions, Oktoberfest is an event not to be missed. The event will be free to the public, though there will be a charge to access specific VIP areas.
The event will feature an expanded tasting program, the BierHaus tent, more stein hoisting, a main stage of German and current music, roaming entertainment, games, wiener dog races, unique vendors, the return of the Lederhosen Lap 5k run and a full Sunday schedule of events has been added as well. Parents are encouraged to bring the entire family during the day on both Saturday and Sunday as there will be plenty of programming for children as well.
Westport also boasts many festivals and fun events throughout the year that have become Kansas City traditions including Art Westport, Westport Summer Beer Festival, Santa Dash, Westport Roots Festival and the St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Celebration which attracts more than a quarter of a million attendees.
