Come Together at 4010 Penn

Apr 5, 2018 | Drinks, Food

Coffee, jazz and burger lovers alike can all find something to enjoy at 4010 Pennsylvania Avenue here in Westport. In 1996, Westport Coffeehouse opened in the neighborhood. This new cafe offered a place that the community could meet over a quality cup of coffee and baked fresh daily pastries. Word has it that Pam’s strawberry cake, made from a family recipe, is a must have.

Soon after, Tom and Pam Ptacek, owners and Kansas City locals, saw an opportunity to diversify. They began bringing the community together through local entertainment by opening a “black box” theatre. The Westport Coffee House Theater, located just below the coffee house, features local comedians, musicians and more every week.

Then in 2012, the Ptacek’s son, Michael, extended the family’s offerings even further by opening Green Room Burgers & Beer.  Located next to the theater, Green Room was the perfect addition to the building and to Westport. This brew-pub features great-tasting burgers, fresh and local ingredients and Papa Louie’s beers – brewed in house!

So whether you want a taste of Pam’s delicious and sought after strawberry cake, to relax to the sounds of a local jazz musician or sip on a local, handcrafted beer, you’re in good hands in all three of these family-owned and operated businesses right here in Westport. You can also learn a little more about each and the Ptacek’s 22 years in Westport in the video below.
